Basement Waterproofing

Basements can be waterproofed in many different ways from sheet membranes to cementitious systems and waterproof slurry coats.

If it's a new build property we can use external systems to waterproof the basement or alternatively if you are just converting an old basement to living quarters, then membranes is the way to go.

Cementitious Coating is a render that can withstand the external water pressure present in a basement. Once installed it keeps a dry environment by creating a physical barrier to water entering the basement. The coating can be applied directly to most substrates with multiple coats needed.

Membranes can also be used as an alternative to conventional cementitious tanking systems or a combination of the both can be used. The membrane works by allowing the water to seep through the outer wall into the cavity were it runs down the membrane into an existing drainage system or by the provision of a sump and pump.

This type of method can also be used on floors where it will be loosely laid. Once the membrane has been fitted walls can be plastered and floors can be screeded or dry boarded.

ASRS can provide full specifications for every type of basement wether it's a new build or converting an existing basement.
